Having experienced varying styles of yoga over the years, practising yoga with Cindy feels like coming home. In so many ways I feel I have gone back to basics and learned a completely different way of doing things - but what a feeling - a sense of not “thinking” the moves but “feeling” them. The next day I’m conscious I’ve worked and put the effort in but at the time, it feels light and almost free. Cindy is an excellent teacher, with a wonderful way of describing postures and adjusting if required or suggesting alternatives, allowing you to make the practice your own. Throughout Covid the online Zoom classes have felt such an oasis and treat, in a relaxed environment in my own bedroom, but with what feels like one-to-one teaching from such a committed teacher. I started yoga with Cindy as a complete beginner 7 years ago. A decision I have never regretted. Cindy is a professional, knowledgeable, and very able teacher. Her teaching through both physical instruction and visualisation has an uncanny ability to describe to you exactly what you are trying to achieve in a posture. Despite being in a class with several other members whether physically, or in the current climate - virtually, Cindy always provides personal attention to you. Thanks to Cindy I am now a committed yogi.

I have been having regular yoga sessions with Cindy since March 2010. My main reasons for doing Yoga were to strengthen my core muscles and to maintain inner balance and relaxation. I found Cindy's teaching techniques very effective, the classes are generally small and there is always enough time for any one-one corrections and adjustments whilst practicing the postures, because of this I feel I have really progressed with building my core strength and have managed to feel the benefit and sense of inner space that the postures allow. I have also gained much more focus and clarity from the relaxation at the end of the sessions and although I had never done chanting before, I have found it a very powerful tool for centering my thoughts. I can't stress enough how welcoming Cindy is, I was put at ease immediately on my first session, everything was explained to me before the class started and any health issues discussed, I was also relieved to be amongst a group with varying yoga skills, this made me feel more than comfortable to work within my own limitations. Overall, I am always left feeling lighter and invigorated at the end of sessions and would highly recommend Cindy's classes to anyone that wants to try Yoga, whether it be for physical fitness, health problems or relaxation.

When I reached my 50's I found that I was far less flexible and started to get niggling pains in my back and shoulders as well as a severe tightening of the hamstrings. It was suggested that I would benefit from yoga lessons, but I was concerned that I would be amongst flexible people bending into positions I would have struggled with in my 20's.
I was given Cindy's card; I made the call and have not looked back since. Cindy has a true gift when it comes to teaching. Her ability to teach a class of mixed abilities through support and encouragement leaves every individual with a true sense of achievement, however small and most importantly personal fulfilment. I for one needed an immense amount of encouragement and when things seem to be getting a little tough, she senses it first and offers individual support.

Having tried a variety of yoga classes I can recommend Cindy as an excellent Sivananda teacher. Her classes are small enough to give individual attention in a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere.

I find Cindy very gentle and caring - she takes enormous care to explain moves slowly and carefully so you can follow. She is also excellent at adapting an element in the class when I have an injury.
When we first started doing the classes via Zoom, I was amazed at how easily she was able to spot ways to correct what I was doing - she certainly keeps a close eye on what we do and gently gives encouragement and suggestions for improvement.

It is a delight to have such an excellent teacher, whose philosophy is based on both Sivananda and Scaravelli yoga, so near and convenient. I have previously been to Hove to find a teacher, and previously in Worthing and Littlehampton- this particular sort of practice suits my way of seeing the most gentle as the most powerful, and the most therapeutic. I would go to a class every morning if it were possible!

Cindy was recommended to us several years ago by our osteopath. Both my husband and I have been taking classes with Cindy regularly since then. We like her detailed and guided teaching style as it has helped us to continually improve our yoga practice. She works individually with all her students both in class or in one on one sessions. Even though it has not been possible to attend classes in the studio because of Covid-19 we have found her teaching style works equally using Zoom. We would highly recommend her whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner.
